To make a booking, a deposit of 20% is required with the remaining 80% balance payable 45 days prior to departure.
In the unlikely event that you need to cancel after you have booked and prior to your final balance being paid your deposit will be forfeited. Cancellations received inside 45 days of travel will be subject to cancellation charges at the following rates: 45-29 days 45% of fare, 28-14 days 70% of fare, less than 14 days 100% of fare.
It is recommended that passengers take out travel insurance which specifically covers cancellation fees; most claims arise from either personnel or close-family illness before departure resulting in cancellation charges.
Please consult your own insurance company or you may want to consider this

Wilderness Challenge
is concerned to ensure that our safari meets your expectations.
Our brochure is written to describe our safaris accurately and we also
try to capture the emotions of an outback experience.
Wilderness Challenge
has an enviable reputation for the professionalism and performance of
its support and guiding staff and the quality and reliability of its
equipment. However, our safaris do operate in remote and rugged
regions where facilities and services are either very limited or non-existent.
Despite our very best endeavours and extensive preventative measures,
weather or road conditions, safety or operational issues, injury or
illness, or electrical/mechanical failure can sometimes occur and cause
disruption. In any of these circumstances, your guide will communicate
with the group, explore alternatives and reach a considered decision,
bearing in mind your safety and your best interests. Sometimes
these events may cause delays, inconvenience, itinerary changes and
discomfort; these are risks and sacrifices that Wilderness Challenge
specifically asks its customers to accept in their pursuit of 4WD adventure
and the natural and cultural experiences that await in the remote and
rugged regions of Australia’s far north. In any event, Wilderness
Challenge reserves the right to alter or cancel any section of the itinerary
it deems necessary at its sole discretion without refund or any compensation
whatsoever. Other issues which you should be aware of include:
- Wilderness Challenge will
make every endeavour to keep to arrival/departure times but no guarantee
can be given. Wilderness Challenge will not be liable for any
costs incurred through delay, change in itinerary or failure to connect
with any other service. Wilderness Challenge strongly recommends
adequate time be allowed between the scheduled completion of a safari
and any onward private travel.
- Wilderness Challenge utilises
other suppliers to provide additional services. However, Wilderness
Challenge will not accept responsibility for any problem, complaint
or claim resulting from the provision of a service or failure to provide
a service by any transportation, accommodation or other supplier who
may supply a service at the request of Wilderness Challenge.
- Wilderness Challenge reserves
the right to exclude any passenger from a tour at any time if in the
company’s opinion that person may appear likely to risk the health
or safety or comfort of other passengers or themselves, or in the event
that person commits any illegal act. In any such circumstances
Wilderness Challenge will not be liable to pay any compensation whatsoever.
- We commit to do our utmost
to provide a safe, enjoyable safari of adventure, discovery and fun.
