DAY 1 CAIRNS - BAMAGA - CAPE YORK (LD)

This morning make your own way to Cairns Domestic Airport then fly over the Great Barrier Reef from Cairns to by your tour guide. Visit the north’s remote communities to stock up on supplies. Enjoy a fascinating visit to the beautiful “Lockerbie Scrub? an isolated pocket of monsoon rainforest before an emotional walk to the very top of Australia ?CAPE YORK. After a fitting celebration we travel to our beachfront campsite on the tropical shores of Torres Strait.

Across the mighty Jardine River we travel through Cape York's wilderness. This afternoon you'll be enchanted by the magic of Twin Falls - swimming here, in pristine spring-fed pools landscaped by nature, will be a life long memory. We camp here tonight in the company of millions of stars.

DAY 3 TELEGRAPH TRACK - MORETON TELEGRAPH OFFICE - ARCHER RIVER (BL)

4WD adventure and fun on Cape York's rugged Telegraph Track this morning. Cross rivers and creeks, see prehistoric palms, giant termite mounds and carnivorous plants. This afternoon we cross the Wenlock River at historic Moreton Telegraph Office before travelling on to our overnight camp at the Archer River.

South to Coen then on to the historic telegraph station of Musgrave. From Laura, a 4WD track will take you into Jowalbinna Rock Art Safari Camp, the epicentre of “Quinkan?Rock Art. This afternoon relax with a refreshing swim in a bush creek and enjoy the peace of this remote outback location. In the evening relax around the campfire. Camp at Jowalbinna tonight.

DAY 5 JOWALBINNA - CAIRNS (BL)

Rise to the morning chorus of Kookaburras, Butcherbirds and Blue-faced Honeyeaters, three of over fifty bird species at Jowalbinna. After breakfast in the bush you will be inspired by this morning’s rock art walk (optional). This body of work is acclaimed as being among the largest collections of primitive art in the world. Your guide will explain the significance of these artworks, the traditional lifestyle of the artists and the conservation initiatives to preserve these national treasures (reasonable fitness and suitable footwear required). This afternoon we cross the Great Dividing Range to the coastal plain and Port Douglas or Cairns completing your fascinating adventure of discovery and fun in Australia's far north.
