DAY 1 TO DAY 2 MV TRINITY BAY voyage to Seisia, Cape York

We will meet at your Cairns accommodation before boarding the coastal freighter M.V. TRINITY BAY. Watch the final loading of fuel, building materials and supplies on to the vessel then relax and enjoy cruising out of Cairns Harbour as the ship freights vital supplies so necessary to our remote communities. Enjoy the balmy, tropical, azure seas as the ship meanders through the Great Barrier Reef.

Disembark this morning as the ship unloads her precious cargo. You will be met at the Seisia wharf and introduced to other passengers already on tour after a little sightseeing we arrive at our splendid base camp at Loyalty Beach overlooking Torres Strait. (Toilets and Showers)

DAY 4 Seisia - Cape York (BLD)

Celebrations today at the very point of Cape York Peninsula. Cameras clicking and smiling happy people as memories are in the making at one of the most superb vistas in Australia. Again we return to camp at Loyalty beach base overlooking Torres Strait and the Arafura Sea. (Toilets and Showers)

Today you have the option of a day tour to Thursday Island and Horn Island at your own expense. Experience the different Islander culture, a more laid back and relaxed lifestyle, the envy of many city dwellers. Other options are wharf fishing or just exploring and relaxing around camp. DAY 6 TO DAY 7 Cape York - Twin Falls (BLD)

We leave Loyalty Beach, travel through Bamaga and ferry the Jardine River. Rough corrugated roads lead us to Twin Falls, a spectacular jewel in the crown of the peninsula where we hike, swim, relax and enjoy the enchanting series of waterfalls on the Elliott River, including Twin and Indian Head Falls. The unusual landscapes and vistas of Heathland Reserve with low scrub vegetation contrasting with monster termite mounds take us to dense rainforests. We veer off the main route and drive to picturesque Captain Billy Landing on the east coast. This evening we camp at Bramwell Station and delight in the legendary country hospitality of Wendy the property owner and hostess. (Toilet & Swim)

DAY 9 Bramwell Station - Weipa (BD)

We depart early, drive better roads and arrive in Weipa around lunch. This afternoon there is ample time to shop, or catch up on some chores, fishing is also an option (own expense) for passengers who pre-booked fishing before our tour departure date. (Toilets & Showers)

A town and lifestyle tour is including the mining operation is available this morning at own expense, then we continue our journey camping overnight in Coen River. A chance to meet the locale in the exchange hotel this evening. (Toilets & Showers)

DAY 11 Coen - Lakefield National Park (BLD)

We travel south until Musgrave then turn east and start experiencing Lakefield National Park with its abundant wildlife such as, Ibis, Bustards, Jabirus, Brolgas, Pigs and Crocodiles. Camp overnight by the Normanby River within this National Park. ( Toilet & Cool Showers)

We explore more of the Park area passing New Laura Ranger Station and visit the historic Old Laura Homestead, before crossing the Battlecamp range steeped in chequered records of good and evil. We arriving in Cooktown and dine out tonight, a welcome break from camp cooking. (Toilets & Showers)

DAY 13 Cooktown - Cairns (BL)

After visiting Grassy Hill and viewing some of the towns landmarks we visit the notorious Black Mountain area and historic Lions Den Pub. If weather permits we venture into the dense mountainous rainforest of Cedar Bay and Cape Tribulation National Park, cross the Bloomfield River and tackle the steep Bloomfield Track. We visit Cape Tribulation itself, onto the Daintree Ferry and arrive in Cairns at approx. 6.00pm.
