DAY 1 CAIRNS - "PACIFIC DISCOVERER " (LD)

Accommodation pick up and boarding of Pacific Discoverer , watch the final loading of fuel, building materials and supplies on to the vessel. Then relax and enjoy cruising out of Cairns Harbour and heading north carrying all the requirements for the remote communities.

DAY 2 GREAT BARRIER REEF (BLD)

Enjoying the views throughout the day and company of the crew of this working vessel.

DAY 3 CAPE YORK (BLD)

Disembark this morning whilst watching again the unloading of this precious cargo for not only the locals but with food for your safari tour. You will be collected at the Seisia wharf after a town tour we drive to the top of Australia and enjoy a beautiful walk to the actual tip. We visit Somerset and other historical areas, then travel on to our camp overlooking Torres Strait. (Toilets and Showers)

DAY 4 CAPE YORK (BD)

Today you have the option of a day tour to Thursday Island at your own expense. A bus tour is available on the island. Other options on this day are charter or wharf fishing, a joy flight over Torres Strait or just exploring and relaxing around camp. (Toilets and Showers)

DAY 5 CAPE YORK - TWIN FALLS (BLD)

We travel via Bamaga and ferry the Jardine River. After traversing the old Telegraph Track we arrive at Twin Falls. Here we hike, swim, relax and enjoy the unbelievably spectacular series of waterfalls including the Elliott, Twin and Indian Head Falls. (Toilet & Swim)

DAY 6 TWIN FALLS - BRAMWELL CATTLE STATION (BLD)

The unusual countryside of Heathland Reserve with its low scrub and contrasting termite mounds feature as we make our way to Bramwell Cattle Station and the true bush hospitality of the redoubtable Wendy, owner of this 520 square mile property. (Toilet & Shower)

DAY 7 BRAMWELL STATION - WEIPA (BLD)

We depart early, drive good roads and arrive around lunch time at Weipa. This afternoon there is ample time to shop, or catch up on some chores, fishing is also available as an option. (Toilets & Showers)

DAY 8 WEIPA - COEN (BD)

A town and lifestyle tour including the mining areas (own cost) is recommended this morning before we continue our journey and make camp in Coen. An opportunity to meet the colourful locals this evening in the local Exchange Hotel, where the atmosphere is truly ‘country? (Toilets & Showers).

DAY 9 COEN - NORMANDY RIVER (BLD)

We travel south until Musgrave then turn east and start experiencing Lakefield National Park with its tremendous wildlife such as, Ibis, Bustards, Jabirus, Brolgas, Pigs and Crocodiles. Camp overnight by the Normanby River within this National Park. ( Toilet & Showers)

DAY 10 NORMANDY RIVER - COOKTOWN (BL)

We explore more of the Park area passing New Laura Ranger Station and visit the historic Old Laura Homestead then drive the corrugated Battlecamp Road and drop down to fertile farming country and arrive in Cooktown. A pleasant break from camp cooking as we all dine out this evening. (Toilets & Showers)

DAY 11 COOKTOWN - CAIRNS (BL)

After visiting Grassy Hill and viewing some of the towns landmarks we visit the notorious Black Mountain area and historic Lions Den Pub. If weather permits we venture into the dense mountainous rainforest of Cedar Bay and Cape Tribulation National Park, cross the Bloomfield River and tackle the steep Bloomfield Track. We visit Cape Tribulation itself, onto the Daintree Ferry and arrive in Cairns at approx. 6.00pm.
