Thankyou we had a fantastic time on the tour "we did the best tour with the best guides, company and fellow travellers". It was everything we wanted and more and we were very satisfied with the service we received from Tropical Experience.

We have just arrived home today after continuing our trip around Queensland with our caravan. It was all great but the tour to the tip was the best.

Yes we had an excellent trip to Cape York - the staff (Geoff and Anne) and bus/facilities provided by OzTours were first class, and the itinerary was great.

About our only regrets were not seeing a Cuscus (either species) or an Eclectus Parrot. This just got us enthusiastic about another trip - we will have to organise it so the roads are open into Lockhart River and Iron Range NP next time. Either that or we will fly into Lockhart River - after the Horn Island Tour and a look at Liberty SeeKee's WW2 musuem, I realised that I would really like to retrace my Dad's route to Borneo in WW2 with the RAAF.

Thanks again for all your work with booking and organising the tour - it was much appreciated. We ended up getting a very good deal from Avis with hiring a small car to drive from Cairns to Rockhampton after the tour - they didn't even charge us a one way relocation fee. You might like to pass that on to anyone else who needs to hire one way from Cairns after a tour.

Our Cape York trip was a wonderful experience for us, we both have highly recommended to our friends, The Trinity Bay was an very interesting boat ride, awesome food throughout the whole trip, wonderful guide and hostess on the land tour

Thanks for a great Holiday more time would have been great but we will just have to go back and see all the things we missed out on, such as Lakefield National park roads were still closed so was unable to go there.

Yes. It was a great experience and we enjoyed the company of our fellow travellers. Our driver Adam and offsider Georgette provided us with great meals and a safe and pleasant ride. We would liked to have received a bit more written information about the historical places we visited and stayed at even though Adam did give a good commentary on the way.

Thank you for contacting us. We had a great time and thoroughly enjoyed our tour to Cape York. Flying up was good and we enjoyed the tours of both islands, before landing at Seisa. We enjoyed the camping experience and did not find the tenting arduous. I got a bit tired of putting my stretcher up and down and in the end just used the mattress but luckily had a light doona to put on it as it may have been a bit hard otherwise. If we did it again we would probably choose an accommodated tour though. The food on the campfire from Kristy and information and capable driving from Geoff were very good. I think the group really started to gel and become more friendly half way through. We were happy with the length of tour and probably wouldnt want longer as it was our first experience of a lot of bush, even though we caravan but mostly on and off the main highways. Hoping this gives you some idea of how we found our trip. Give our regards to Kristy and Geoff, i will try and enclose a couple of photos.

Just a big thank-you for our wonderful trip upto the Cape, everything went perfect, had a wonderful time and a lovely experience, great guid Rick Bates, showed us a few extra places, and had a lovely lot of people, we all got on so well, lots of laughs and giggles, please pass on our thank-you to Rick if that is possible.
We have recommended the tour to so many people on our way back home, we had a safe trip home, very cold and windy here with rain.
Will certainly recommend you and the tour to other people.

In all honesty I was sorry that the trip had come to an end, the operator could not have done any more than they did in the planning & running the trip of a life time. Like you said, the food was great there was plenty of it. With sleeping in the tent, it was not as rough it could have been as I was using a Mattress that was laid on top of the hired stretcher.

Overall we did enjoy the experience, the way you arranged our tour without any problems to us was great, thank you.

Geoff and Christie from the Cape York Safari were great. Geoff is a wealth of knowledge and is obviously very passionate about Cape York, and Christie’s cooking, using only a camp fire, was amazing and very tasty.

The bus we travelled in was comfortable and a refuge from the heat and dust.

The group we travelled with were fun and we all got along well.

It was a lot dryer and dustier than we imagined, but as Geoff said it was the end of a very dry season, apparently it is a prettier place directly after the wet.

Cherie and I have decided that setting up and living in a tent for 12 days is something we would probably not want to do again, but this is in no way a reflection on Tropical Experience, Oz Tours or their staff.

We are certainly glad we went, and would recommend you to anybody wishing to travel Cape York and the Tip.

We saw and experienced lots of things doing the trip, that we wouldn’t normally, travelling on our own.

We believe that the trip we did is the best way to experience the Cape, but it is a very “rustic” place.

Basically, the Cape York safari was great. The trip was well run and we were very satisfied
with the experience. I think all of us felt that it was a few too many days of the "same old"
driving but that's nobody's fault. Certainly the effort was made to break up the day and add
some interest. Unfortunately, there just isn't a whole lot to see up there and a lot of distance
that has to be covered. I do think if I were going to go to the tip again, I'd either go by boat or in a *small* 4WD vehicle so we could experience some of the rougher parts that we had to
skip in the big bus.

The service from Tropical Experience was fine and it was really nice meeting Mel on the
trip.

Sorry for the delay in replying, we have only been back from our entire trip for about a week now and time has been precious!

We thoroughly enjoyed our trip, mostly everything was just right, our Tour Guide, Michelle, we found to be excellent, she was so enthusiastic in all aspects & fitted in so well with the passengers. I think we had such a happy, fun-loving "bunch", all very compatible (although very diverse in their lives) this all contributed to a truly great experience. Michelle's knowledge of trees, birds, areas etc was excellent. She was very obliging with any of our requests & kept things running very smoothly.

We have spread the word since we left up there & I am sure the trip to the "Tip" will be enjoyed by many more of our friends in the future!!

Just to let you know that the whole time I spent in Cairns & on the Cape York Tour was fantastic. The Cape York Tour segment was great and I travelled with a fantastic bunch of people. The accomodation in Cairns at the CTI was very good and was located so it was an easy walk to anything I wanted to do Cairns.
I was more than happy from the service from Tropical Experience and will use your service again if I am in that part of the country again.

Yes we certainly enjoyed our trip to Cape York, it was a wonderful experience and our guide, Jules, did a great job. We would certainly recommend a Cape York Safari to anyone wanting to see the cape, and we really appreciated the organisation you did for us at very short notice.
Only (slight) problems were the non arrival of our travel documents at our caravan park in Cairns - it was quite inconvenient for us to get them via email at that time, and the FAX received was not a cheap option. Also having to arrange and fund our transfer to the airport seemed not quite fair as I understand other members of the tour arriving a day later had their transfer included.
BUT we did enjoy the trip - camping very comfortable, good food, good transport and of course wonderful scenery!

In regards to your query about the trip, both my father and I have nothing but positive comments (albeit one suggestion) and memories of the entire trip. I would firstly like to thank Tropical Experience Tour & Travel Centre for the professionsal attitude, friendly assistance and prompt replies to query's regarding this trip.

Secondly, I and my father cannot say enough about what a great trip this was thanks to the unselfish, dedicated, friendly attitude of Anita and Ron, our tour guides. The guides an make or break a tuor and both Anita and Ron are of the highest standard of ambassadors for a Cape York Safari. I congratulate the operator for having the forresight to employ such a great couple.

I would like to suggest that one thing that came out of comments and discussion by other travellers was that the operator could fore go the 2 night stay at Iron Bark camping ground and a tour of Lockheart River community in favour of a longer stay at Twin Falls and Fruit Bat Falls. (it was unanimous on our tour) that all would have prefered a longer stay at the falls.

Other than that our tour was great, the return journey on the MV Trinity Bay was fantastic and memorable.

Thanks to your company and staff for making what is a once in a life time experience for my father and I such a memorable one.

Thank you for the email and yes we did enjoy our trip to the Tip and the experiences on the way, our Guide was very pleasant and informative, with a good sense of humour. The small group we travelled with was ideal and everyone appeared to mix well and get on well together.
The Barge trip back was interesting and we thought 3 days was probably ideal.
We were happy with the service we received from Tropical Experience, all our enquires were answered quickly and pleasantly, the information supplied was good and we had no problems joining the tour.

Yes, Roger & I had a fabulous time. It was our first group tour and it worked well for us for the following reasons:
- The itinary (spelling!) was good. They took us to interesting places and travelled over a good amount of the overland telegraph track.
- The Guide was very knowledgeable about the history of the area & the wildlife.
- The cook was excellent - good healthy food always available.
- Both the guide and cook worked well as a team and looked after us.
- The other guests fell into our general level of interest, fitness & health (rather than age! - which was also within cooee!)
- Cape York region was very interesting and full of new and interesting aspects.
I was happy with the service I received from Tropical Experience however I was a little unaware of when information came from you or from the operator - it simply did not matter to me. All was good.

We had a great tour and very much enjoyed it. We must also mention that we found Jules, our driver, a competent, capable and cheery tour leader, she made the trip very enjoyable. We also had no problems with Tropical Experience and found you to be very prompt and efficient particularly as we booked quite late.

Yes not only did we enjoy the Holiday but the Service/ Cooking/ Driving & history, fawna & flora, wildlife lessons from Driver & the Chef were worth a mint.
Going early in the season was a bonus with road & weather conditions favourable for traval. We would recommend your Tour to anyone.

importantly the eggs (as per my picture), at the Kuranda Bird Sanctuary.

The tour was wonderful! Garry has everything brilliantly organized and everything ran very smoothly (except that the Weipa tour "failed" [nothing to do with either you or Garry]) And my worst fear did not eventuate. When you are my age you have to get up during the night and, if camping, commune with Nature beneath a tree. There was always the worry of being taken by a crocodile whilst being in this undignified position. Well, it didn't happen. That was a bonus!
I've told a number of friends how wonderful this camping tour was. They tend to look at you in a funny way when you say "camping" -- I'm not quite sure if it means that they wouldn't like to camp themselves or if it means that they can't believe that I enjoyed a camping tour. Well, the fact remains, I DID!

I heard it said from one of the others who does a lot of tours that 'Jules' was the best guide he had EVER had ................ I would agree.
On a journey like that your guide is so very important and can make or break the trip, esp. since she was responsible for EVERYTHING............. I could not fault jules absolute love of her country and her exceptional knowledge.......... and cheery personality - my brother and his wife want all the details now.

We had a wonderful time on the trip and the other people travelling were wonderful and we all had a lot of fun.
One suggestion to improve the trip could be to reduce it the time at the Torres Straight end. It would be worthwhile doing the TI and Horn Island tours on the day you cross over to TI (i.e. land in TI do the tour, look at the town and have lunch. Then get the ferry to Horn Is and do the tour in the afternoon. We could then get a morning flight back to Cairns. The tour operators still get the same value, it is just a bit more compressed.
The accommodation was very good and so was the food. Travelling in the truck was very comfortable considering the conditions on the roads.
We have already mentioned our trip to friends who have seemed very interested in a similar trip.

We had a fantastic trip to Cape York - enjoyed every minute! Rick Bates was an excellent driver/guide - went out of his way to show us and our wonderful travelling companions the splendours of Cape York, and to find a crocodile but not a one in sight! We now think they're a myth! Arranged for a helicopter ride (amazing!) and a sunset fishing trip - great fun - but no fish either! The Thursday Is & Horn Is tours were also great. An extra day on Punsand Beach would have been good! And the MV Trinity Bay boat trip back to Cairns just topped it all off nicely - great crew and food. Everything went without a hitch so we've got to be happy with your service!

Yes I throughly enjoyed my trip to the Cape with Jules. However, I must say that when I first met her I thought, oh dear a woman driver, but I have to say she was tops. She made the whole trip a wonderful experience. She was a good cook, driver and tour guide. Very informative and knew the country well.The planning by the operator was excellent too. The four wheel coach was great to travel in and was well appointed with all the comforts that you could want. I have sleep apena and I had no trouble at all with the accomodation, the tents and stretches were very suited to the job.
I must also say that your service to me was very professional, friendly and caring. All the problems I faced at the time were well catered for by you. I needed a good holiday from my troubles with my wife being so sick with the rotten cancer (5 1/2 years now) and I certainly got it. Thank you.

We where extremely happy with our tour, the experience was fantastic.
Our tour guide could not have been any more inforative, one of the best thing about the tour was how much Dean new about the area.

We had a great experience with the tour operator. Jules is the best, not a thing she can't comment on and the driving and food preparation were tops.
A second night in Cooktown would just complete the tour. Horn Island an excellent addition.

Our trip was AMAZING it exceeded all expectations we had a ball and learnt so much. Our tour guide was Jules and she is FANTASTIC. She is a fantastic person doing the right job. Her knowledge of the area was very extensive and enjoyable. She was very professional at all times. We will be recommending this tour through your company to many of our friends.
The only hic up we had was after we left Jules and were on Thursday island and were separated from the rest of the tour (who were only doing the day visit not the extra night on Horn Island) and there was a mix up with buses etc. This was not a real problem just a shock after Jules being so organised. The extra night was also great and well worth it. Keep up the good work.

I have given some thought to my reply to this email, as I did comment shortly after the trip to Noah and to the Agent in Cairns.
I actually wanted to travel on the "Trinity Bay" up, as it stops to drop off stores, and is the more interesting journey, and then do the Camping Safari back, which was not available, and it is nobody's fault but my own that I elected to do it the other way, and then of course the Trinity Bay was out of action, so we flew back, which was not disappointing as the trip over the reef was very spectacular.
As far as the Camping Safari went, we did all that was on the itinerary and probably more besides, but I do feel that the trip is overpriced for what was offered. I travelled in Africa on similar trips in vehicles which were much better equipped for the job. Do you realise that there was no refrigeration for fresh fruit and vegetables on a truck in the tropical north? What refrigeration there was mostly kept everything frozen. The driver was off colour, and it is a big ask to drive all day over that terrain and then prepare a meal for your passengers. He did well in the circumstances. The camping equipment was fine, and I did enjoy that part of the trip very much, but trust you find my comments constructive.

We had a very enjoyable week or so. The guide Jools was exceptional and the rest of the company was excellent. Facilities in the main very good too.

We thoroughly enjoyed the tour - it was all that we expected, in fact it is one those trips that we could do again! We were fortunate to have Jules as our guide. She had a great understanding of the flora and fauna of the Cape and its people and she was always eager to share her knowledge with the group. Jules was friendly, competent in handling the bus, an excellent cook and attentive to the needs of the group.

Our only disappointment is that we would have preferred more time in the Daintree. However, we can understand why it was not given more time as it is in easy reach from Cairns.

Yes, we had a very good time. Our guide, Ian, was extremely helpful and knowledgable and the trip could not have been better. We had excellent company and all got on very well together. We couldn't have had a better time. Even though we ran into trouble (the bus broke down) everybody was very helpful and we were well looked after by both the company and Ian.
We would not hesitate for a moment to recommend the trip and your company to anybody wanting to experience the real feel of the Australian outback.
We have both travelled extensively in Australia and this trip is now counted among the best experiences we have had.

David did show us a great time and we saw many special places along his side tracks. David has a wealth of knowledge of the Cape,and we found him to be very helpful in many ways,one example was when I left my camera at the camp site, when boarding the ferry to Thursday Island. David went back got my camera with only a minute to spare before the ferry departed. Also David is a great bush cook we enjoyed all that he dished up especially his damper's.

We had a great time on our trip to Cape York. The Trinity Bay was a great experience and the captain and crew were very friendly. The food was very good and we thought that the ship was a really good way to start the holiday. The land component back to Cairns was a wonderful experience. The tour leader Shawn Huddy, with his driving skills and his wide knowledge of the history of the area, and his eye for nature made the trip a real adventure. He is real assist to the company. The cook Kristy Brunker did a wonderful job with the meals and looking after the group. We were very happy with the holiday and would recommend anyone who wants to explore the top end of Australia to do the same trip that we did.

We very much enjoyed our holiday, and are happy to recommend the tour to anyone. The service that we received was great, though we only wished the tour could have lasted longer before we had to return to cold and damp Hobart.

I did have a fantastic time on the recent trip. The guide, Jules, was brilliant - a great source of information, a great friendly personality, and just added that extra bit to make the trip go from great to fantastic. Would recommend the trip to anyone who's interested in going. So much to see and such a lot of history up there.

The Cape York trip was absolutely wonderful, could not fault anything. Dean our guide was so informative and had so much knowledge on just about everything - we were very lucky to have him. Even the weather performed well for us, although sometimes alittle hot.

We had a great time. 95% positive, except for the food, which was 105%. We filled in the questionnaire and posted it back. We have recommended the trip to all and sundry!

Phil and I had an amazing time on our trip to the Cape. Everything about the trip was excellent but I'd like to especially mention Juels our tour leader. She was fabulous and she is a quite amazing woman - her driving skills, organisational skills, inter-personal skills not to mentioned her incredible knowledge of the Cape. I think your company is extremely lucky to have her on staff and if we were to book another trip we would be interested in knowing if Juels was going to be in-charge. I particularly noticed how she interacted with the indigenous communities with such respect, and it was evident that she loves our country and her job. The quality of the accommodation was varied between excellent and marginal but overall it was a great experience. Phil and I have just returned from our 6 week holdiday in Queensland. Our 7 day trip to Cape York was excellent and we both thoroughly enjoyed every day that we had. The short notice we gave Laura, when we booked the trip, was very professionally handled and we thank her for making it easy for us. We can only praise all aspects of the trip but in particular we thank Mark Norman. He was excellent as our driver and guide. He is an experienced driver and we felt safe and secure at all times. In particular, his extensive knowledge about the environment should be congratulated. We learnt so much and his understanding and compassion for nature is commendable. The places that we particularly enjoyed were Cape York but also Lockerby Scrub, Morton Telegraph Station and Lotus Bird Lodge. Our interest in birds meant that we saw a number of species that are unique to the Cape and were firsts for us. The standard of accommodation was quite luxurious and was more than we had expected. The reasons we chose this particular trip were mainly available dates, bird related places that we would be staying at on the trip, cost and number of people (not too large a group). Thank you once again and we have already recommended Cape York Tour to a number of people and friends.

Kerry and me had a great time and enjoyed the Cape York area very much. Jules and Neil have been very nice, competent and experienced (Jules) guides. They offered us 12 unforgettable days, and we took the chance! We thank them so much, they are great people. The trip was much better than we had envisaged and the booking proceeded without any hitches. The cargo boat trip was extremely good and the food provided was excellent.The crew were most hospitable and keen to make us most welcome aboard. The operation of the boat was explained well to us and it's role to providing for the communities at the top of Australia. On arrival at Seisa, we were met by our Tour Leader, Geoff and Hostess, Michelle and then our tour of the top end commenced. This tour was entirely different to anything we had experienced previously and made all the more special by the attention we received from Geoff & Michelle. Their knowledge of the area together with their knowlege of the environment made the tour one that we will not forget. The other travellers on the tour were also most appreciative of the quality of the tour and all the arrangements that had been made.We would strongly recommend the tour to our friends if they wish to visit Cape York. Margrette and I enjoyed really enjoyed our trip to the tip of Oz. Our tour guide "Jules" was an encyclopedia of knowledge and a terrific person and driver. I was also very happy with the service Andrew provided in the lead up to our trip. He always replied promptly to all my emails and he was also a fountain of information. Thanks once again We are thinking about a trip to the Kimberley next year or the year after.

Thank you for your inquiry. I did enjoy the tour very much and value the opportunity to travel to the northern most point in Australia.. I was surprised to foind a female tour leader driving a big truck and preparing the meals but Jules proved more than adequate for the job. At 85 years of age, having some difficulty with mobilityand being severely deaf., I probably tested Jules patience, but she, and the other passengers were very helpful. I was disappointed at missing the boat trip back, but apprecited the alternate arrangements made by the Company. A bonus for me was the opportunity to see Jacky Jacky air strip where we used to stay overnight after flying up from Townsville before flying north over New Guinea to the Pacific Islands during World War 2. In all, a great experience. Thamk you.

We had a great time. We were lucky that only 10 passengers were on the tour which caters for 13, because it might have been very crowded with the full 13. Tom Tom, our driver, was great. Acomodation was good, and gernerally it was the hightlight of our 3 month Winter Getaway from Melbourne in our Motorhome.
