DAY 1 CAIRNS, THURSDAY ISLAND, SEISIA (D)

After picking you up at your Cairns accommodation you will be transfered to Cairns airport for early morning flight to Cape York. A conducted bus tour of historic Thursday Island is included. Ample time for sightseeing and souvenir shopping (lunch is own cost today). Afternoon ferry transfer to the mainland.

An unforgettable day of achievement and interest. Stand at the very "Tip" of our continent, where oceans meet and where very few travellers visit. Explore some of the five Aboriginal and Islander Communities before we cross the mighty Jardine River. Through a wilderness of forests and heath we arrive at Twin Falls on the Elliot River and have a cooling dip in the rapids and waterfalls. Overnight National Park campground. Basic Facilities.

DAY 3 TELEGRAPH TRACK, WENLOCK RIVER (BLD)

An exciting day negotiating river crossings and bush tracks while absorbing the unfamiliar landscape of eucalyptus scrub, heathlands, plains and exotic zamia forests. Camp on the Wenlock River at Moreton Telegraph Station. Campground facilities.

Travel south to Batavia Downs Station then west to the Gulf of Carpentaria through huge cattle runs and Aboriginal tribal lands to the bauxite-mining town of Weipa. Time for an optional Weipa Mine Tour (own cost). A veritable "Oasis in the Wilderness" and providing further contrast to your experience of this last frontier. Across rolling Piccaninny Plains and on to our overnight stop at the Archer River.

DAY 5 COEN, MUSGRAVE, LAKEFIELD NATIONAL PARK (BLD)

Historic interludes as we visit the once vibrant gold rush town of Coen, and Musgrave, the last remaining Telegraph Station in Cape York. East towards the Coral Sea to arrive at the massive wildlife haven, Lakefield National Park

Past pioneer homesteads with a pause for photos at Old Laura Homestead then via Battle Camp Range to Hopevale where we meet with a Nugal-Warra Elder for a guided tour of the rainforest and rock art site. Learn about their art, culture, history and bush tucker. On to historic Cooktown as we visit Cooks landing place and Grassy Hill Lookout. Overnight campground.

DAY 7 CAPE TRIBULATION - CAIRNS (BL)

A visit to mysterious Black Mountains before arriving at Bloomfield Falls. We join a guided cultural walk of this special place with a local Kuku Yalangi Aboriginal Guide. Jungle green heights descend to the very edge of the Great Barrier Reef with views of deserted beaches and fringing coral. Partake in a guided rainforest boardwalk in Daintree National Park. Across the Daintree River and via the scenic coastal road where your tour will end with a drop off at your Cairns accommodation.
